GREAT Heav'n, whose mighty frame no respite knows, |
|
2. |
Father of all, from whom the world arose: |
|
3. |
Hear, bounteous parent, source and end of all, |
|
4. |
Forever whirling round this earthly ball; |
|
5. |
Abode of Gods, whose guardian pow'r surrounds |
|
6. |
Th' eternal World with ever during bounds; |
|
7. |
Whose ample bosom and encircling folds |
|
8. |
The dire necessity of nature holds. |
|
9. |
Ætherial, earthly, whose all-various frame |
|
10. |
Azure and full of forms, no power can tame. |
|
11. |
All-seeing Heav'n, progenitor of Time, |
|
12. |
Forever blessed, deity sublime, |
|
13. |
Propitious on a novel mystic shine, |
|
14. |
And crown his wishes with a life divine. |
