  Zion
Located in the northeastern region of the Nile Delta,  Zion was a major administrative capital and royal summer residence in the 12th and 13th dynasties of Egypt and subsequently the main capital of the Hyksos dynasties.  Also known as Avaris, Zephon, Zaphon and Sapuna.
Amorite refugees from Ugarit around 1790 BCE found temporary safety midst the reeds and marshes of the Nile Delta. They quickly captured the Egyptian town of Rowarty, heavily fortifying it as a new city called Ba'al Zaphon and began rebuilding their forces --including engineering their own version of the (H)ibiru chariots. The Amorite refugees became known as the Hyksos- which means literally the “foreigners”.
The city ceased to be the capital under of Ahmose I and appears to have undergone a name change to Ba'al Sapuna which roughly translates as "Lord, who pours forth/out". The city became one of legend in later years until its true identity was lost under the Ramasses Pharaohs who destroyed most of it and created their new city of Tanis.
